Rise Counselling Collective
A Squarespace template becomes a custom site the team can update themselves.
The Challenge
Rise Counselling Collective is a counselling practice in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Their website was a Squarespace template, and the team could not easily update therapist profiles or photos on their own.
The move also had to protect three things: the Google rankings tied to their existing page addresses, the business email already in use, and the contact form that brings in new inquiries.

What I Built
- A custom site built with Next.js and React, hosted on Vercel
- A password-protected admin panel where the team edits therapist profiles, specialties, bios, training listings, photos, services, FAQs, and site settings, without touching code
- Team page filters by audience and by topic, managed from the same admin panel
- A font pairing selector in the admin panel, so the look can change without a redesign
- Automatic image optimization for mobile. One photo went from 154KB to 17KB with no visible quality loss.
- Search setup: sitemap, robots file, canonical tags, and structured data (schema.org MedicalClinic)
- Redirects from every old page address to its new page, with all 20 old addresses tested on both the root domain and www
- Google Ads conversion tracking carried over from the old site
- A contact form that sends inquiries straight to the practice inbox from a verified sending domain
- A custom 404 page and mobile navigation fixes
- Custom domain with HTTPS. Existing business email was left untouched during the DNS changes.
