Terra Screws

A ground-screw foundation contractor's whole business lived on one GoDaddy-builder page — slow, inaccessible, and bloated with third-party scripts. Full static rebuild, technical SEO, and a live domain migration that never touched their business email.

The problem

The entire site ran on GoDaddy Website Builder: 64 JavaScript files on a single landing page, most of them analytics and widget trackers the owner never asked for.

Primary call-to-action buttons failed WCAG contrast at 1.3:1 — illegible for anyone with low vision and a liability for a trades business.

A seven-field lead form asked for information prospects wouldn't give a cold contact.

No structured data, no sitemap, no canonical strategy — Google could index the page but had nothing rich to show.

What we did

Rebuilt from scratch as a static Astro site: one HTML file, one deferred script, images in WebP with explicit dimensions to kill layout shift.

Rewrote the lead form down to four fields that actually predict a qualified inquiry.

Added LocalBusiness schema, sitemap, geo meta, and a branded Open Graph card.

Migrated terrascrews.com from GoDaddy DNS without touching MX records — business email stayed live throughout.

Fixed mobile navigation that previously broke on iOS when the menu opened (position:fixed scroll-lock bug).

Results

Page weight dropped from a script-heavy builder page to a static build that loads in under a second on mobile.

CTA contrast moved from 1.3:1 to 7.11:1 — WCAG AAA.

The owner gets form submissions in the same inbox, with a walkthrough recording for edits they'll actually make.
