"AI" gets pitched to small business owners as either a magic fix or a gimmick, and most of what's actually being sold falls into the second category — a chatbot that mostly frustrates customers, or a voice bot that answers your phone and mangles half the calls. That's not what I set up, and if that's what you're picturing when you hear "AI Setup," it's worth saying clearly: it isn't that.
What it actually is
Most business owners lose time to the same few things every week: writing the same kind of reply over and over, drafting social posts or descriptions, or hunting through old quotes and messages to find something. AI tools are genuinely good at exactly that — not at replacing the judgment calls only you can make.
AI Setup is me sitting down with you, looking at what actually eats your time, and setting up a small number of tools aimed at that specific problem. Sometimes that's a simple assistant for drafting email replies. Sometimes it's a tool that turns a rough voice note into a clean quote description. Sometimes it's a basic chat widget on your website that answers the five questions you get asked constantly, so people get an answer at 9pm instead of waiting until Monday.
What it isn't
It isn't a voice agent answering your business phone and pretending to be staff — that technology exists, but it's expensive, finicky, and the first thing customers notice is that something's off. It isn't a sprawling new dashboard you have to learn and maintain. And it isn't a subscription stack of tools you'll forget you're paying for.
Why this matters more than the hype
The businesses that actually benefit from AI right now are the ones using it for something narrow and specific, not the ones chasing every new feature. A one-time setup that saves you thirty minutes a day is worth more than an impressive demo that never gets used.
That's the whole pitch: a short conversation about where your time actually goes, a handful of tools set up for exactly that, plain instructions so you're not dependent on me afterward, and a follow-up once you've had a couple of weeks to try it.
