Most web design quotes ask for money before you've seen anything. You describe what you want, pay a deposit, and hope the final result matches what was in your head. I think that's backwards for a small business deciding whether to spend money on a website for the first time — or the first time in a decade.

How it actually works

I start with a short conversation about your business — what you do, who you serve, what you like and don't like in other sites. Within 1–3 business days, I build a real, clickable draft using your actual business information, not a generic template with placeholder text.

You look at it. If it's close, I refine it — real copy, real photos where you have them, adjustments based on your feedback — until it's ready. If it's not right at all, or you decide not to move forward, you owe nothing. No deposit, no cancellation fee, no small print.

Why I do it this way

It removes the biggest risk in hiring a web designer you haven't worked with before: paying upfront and hoping it works out. You get to judge the actual thing I'd deliver, not a portfolio of other people's projects and a promise.

It also keeps me honest about scope. Because I'm not paid until you approve the final site, there's no incentive to pad a project with extra pages or features you don't need — the fastest path to getting paid is building something you actually want to say yes to.

What happens after you approve

Once you're happy with the site, payment is due, and I finalize the details — domain, hosting, analytics, Search Console — and launch.
